Requests for repeat prescriptions should  be either handed into the surgery, by post or by telephone. We ask that you hand in your request before 4p.m. each day so as to receive it in 48 hours. If requesting your prescription by post please remember to enclose a stamped addressed envelope.

Most local pharmacies are only too pleased to provide a pick up and delivery service, therefore ask your local pharmacy for details.

There may be occasions that the drug you are asking for has not been prescribed by the doctor as a repeat medication, therefore you may be asked to make a routine appointment with the doctor.

Prescription reviews. We are constantly reviewing prescriptions to ensure they are appropriate.  You may receive a note on your prescription informing you of such a review. In most cases you will receive a smaller supply of the drug than you may expect. Please make an appointment to review the medication as we may not for good clinical practice be able to continue it without a review.

Medication not available . It is becoming more frequent that medicines are not available due to supply problems . We will endeavour to let you know this and will seek a suitable alternative if one is available.

Hospital requests

Patients attending a Hospital outpatient clinic may receive a prescription and are asked to take it to the GP . These prescriptions are not Urgent items. Please hand into reception for processing which will normally be 48 hours unless the Hospital Clinic has contacted us for an urgent script.

Please DO NOT make an appointment just to receive this medication.
